Soccer started this week. Three practice and game schedules. That's a lot to keep up with. Add that to piano lessons, gymnastics, Activity Days, school, homework, playgroups, preschool, and Young Mens. Makes for some busy days. Hopefully we can survive. Jake thinks we've over scheduled our kids. That may be true. I just have a hard time figuring out what to cut out. Anyways, games started today. Elle's got rained out. Jake had YM training all day so luckily his mom was here to help me. A huge storm blew in right after Mya's game, creating a big, muddy mess of the fields and my car. Week one down. Lots still to go...
I was so proud of Jada for getting out and playing. We had some tears right at first, which made me worry that we were doing swim team revisited. Luckily once they started playing, she got excited about it and wanted to play. She even touched the ball a couple of times.
And call me a bird if you will, but I have definitely been building my nest lately. I've cleaned windows and blinds, cleaned the car some, dusted some things that were in serious need of dusting (including spraying off some of my decorations up on my kitchen ledge), cleaned out most of the fridge and freezer, and made a list of other things in need of organizing. I've also started a little on my cabinets below sinks, and spent a good chunk of time the other day cleaning up the game closet. Not sure what any of this has to do with having a baby, but while I'm feeling the urge I might as well clean. Tweet tweet... do you have a closet you want me to organize?

And I wanted to record a couple of things Cole likes to say. He really is a great little talker and can be such a fun boy. School has been awesome for him because it has gotten him on a schedule, and he is actually sleeping in some days and napping great. The kid has never been a great napper so this is a welcome change! Some things to remember about the boy...
* Sometimes when he is mad at someone he will say, "Pooey (insert name like Mya)". Mya taught him that one. Lovely.
* Also when he has a dirty diaper, he'll often say, "I have poopies again" like those darn things just keep on coming back. Are you sensing a theme here? I promise that is the last gross thing I will write about.
* Before he goes to sleep we talk about things that are coming up, like "When you wake up, we'll go get sissies", etc. so now he always talks to me about those kinds of things when I am leaving his room.
* When I ask what song he wants before going to sleep, he always picks "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" but he calls it something like "How I wonder what you are" or some other lyrics to the song.
* Sometimes he likes to sleep with toys in his bed, like a dinosaur, animal, or his giant t-rex. He likes to set them on certain characters on his Toy Story pillow, like, for example during his nap today his lion is sleeping on the pig on his pillow.
* Most times when we start talking about him taking a nap, he says "I don't want any nap."
* He's become very opinionated about whether or not he wears a bib, and also has become quite skilled at undressing himself.
* Jake's mom was here recently, and one day Cole lined up his crayons in the crack of the picnic table. He called Gigi over to look at his "Choo-choo".
* Sometimes when he wants me to pick him up he'll come over to me and kind of fling himself at me or grab onto me and say, "I can't walk."
* "I need my mote (remote)!" and oftentimes climbs up to get it off the counter. Crazy boy.
* He's listened to me one too many times because the other day when the older girls were getting out of the car for school he was yelling to Mya, "No time outs!"
* I love how he says "come wiss (with) us" when he wants to come with me somewhere or wants to bring something with us.
* And a good one from Jada... Today we were looking for something for one of her toys that we didn't find and I told her we'll have to keep our eyes open for it. She told me, "But we have to blink, don't we?"
* I'm sure there are other things that I will remember and come back and add later. He is just such a fun kid right now and I love to hear all he has to say.
And for the last kid of the bunch. He's proving to be a stubborn one already, who's sitting comfortably with his head still up above my belly button. Not the most comfortable at times for me, but the girls like being able to feel his head. He did suffer his first injury on behalf of his siblings the other day. I was doing Jada's hair and she flung her head back and hit me right in the belly where the baby's head was. It hurt me and the baby definitely felt it. Sorry kid... welcome to the rest of your life as #5. Hopefully he flips on his own soon so we don't have to take matters into our own hands!
I love my kids. I get to spend a whole lot of time with little JJ and Coley during the days now that school has started. I am glad because once my olders come home, they demand a lot of attention so I have to remind myself not to feel bad and that Jada and Cole have my attention for most of the day. Anyways, here are just some fun pictures. Above is what I saw Cole doing after he was telling me "I drink my moke (milk)". And he really likes to line up his animals and dinosaurs...
He also climbs up on the bathroom and kitchen counter quite frequently. Not my favorite hobby of his, and luckily we've been spared any major falls as of yet (knock on wood). This was today, as he was making some crazy growling type noise, and turning on and off the light, apparently really enjoying himself...

And I guess it's safe to say they are pretty much all crazy...
I mean seriously, haven't I taught them anything about fashion? Guess not. We had preschool for Jada at our house today. The letter "C". Weird to think that I will never teach her little preschool class again. She's getting all big and grown-up, and starts her real preschool next month, and then it is on to Kindergarten next year. I am feeling way sad about that one already. I am not ready to let her go. She is such a little ray of sunshine and just so happy and smiley and fun to be around. She and Cole are such good buddies and I really am going to miss her next year. I did have the thought the other day that I can't stop her progress just because I don't want to let her go, so I guess school it will be. Doesn't mean I have to like it, but it's the right thing to do. She needs to learn and become a big kid. At least we still have a lot of time before next August! Anyways...
We did all kinds of fun "C" things like sorting blocks by color and building towers, lining up star stickers, counting candy corns, pinned the candle on the cupcake, decorated cookies, made number caterpillars, etc. Lots of fun. I really like teaching preschool. My brain just works that way. And these kids do really well together which makes a huge difference.
The nesting was in full force last week, resulting in the to-do lists that are now posted on our door. Luckily some things have already been completed.
Washed all kinds of baby stuff, including a whole bunch of clothes that my sister Kellie sent me. Also pulled out and washed winter stuff for my kiddos even though it's not remotely cold here. Just knew I wouldn't want to be taking that on come November.
Got the swing and car seat ready to go. Bassinet assembly is next. The kids have already put the swing to good use...

Makes for a nice resting spot for all kinds of things...
It is big. Isn't black supposed to be a slimming color? I beg to differ. And apparently Jada didn't want me to feel alone in my big bellied-ness...
