Memorial weekend is such a tease! Summer is so close, and it is so hard to get motivated to get back into the school routine for just three more days after the super fun holiday break. We definitely made the best of the weekend, spending lots of time out in the sun. I love the pool and I love the sun and I love the summer nights after the sun goes down. Summer is just the best! I'd be lying if I said this was a short post- we've been busy and blogging hasn't been top priority so prepare yourself! We spent Memorial Day doing exactly what you are supposed to be doing on this holiday- BBQ-ing and swimming! And, by the way, I love Jada's tutu swim suit- honestly so cute on the little brown baby!
Cole got to spend time on his first swimming day with his buddy Trent, and the girls got to swim with friends, also. I was so glad Cole liked the pool.

After dinner, the boys got a little creative with their dives. I'm proud to say that Jake came out victorious in this competition, eventually making it through (and getting stuck in) six rings!
Jake treated the kids to some Memorial Day donuts. Funny that some parents try to keep their babies away from sugar while my husband buys the kid his own donut holes!
We also hit up our neighborhood pool party and got some free hot dogs, drinks, and chips.
Saturday night we BBQ-ed with friends and then went to the drive-in to see the new Shrek movie. Really pretty cute and surprisingly clean humor for a Shrek movie.
I love it when kids lay like this with their chubby cheeks in their hands. I just think it is so cute!
We also went to the pool on Saturday, which was the opening day. Even though the girls had spent all morning at a swim meet, they still wanted more time in the pool. Kids could swim all day!
Some fun at the swim meet! Elle was "Dolphin of the Week" and got to wear a special cap. The girls did great. Mya is showing so much improvement. She made it across the entire pool during her backstroke without stopping. She couldn't even do the backstroke by herself at the beginning of the season so she has come a long way!
They do this cute "big dolphin- little dolphin" thing, and Mya's big dolphin gave her this cute toy and blew some bubbles with the kids.
On Friday the kids had fun playing on the water slide and having lunch with Russell and Whitney. I was so glad Jada could do it all by herself. They had a great time!
Now let's rewind a little to last weekend that I should have blogged about earlier, but oh well. Life is busy! We got to spend the weekend with Jake's parents and Esther and Levi who just got back from his mission. Cole found a buddy in Levi which was awesome for me because he can be quite the momma's boy!

They also got to see the girls in their "Mini Olympics" for gymnastics. It was a great weekend to have them visit!
Excuse the poor pictures from the gym! The girls have done great with gymnastics. Mya has come a long way since she started, and it is so fun to see Elle learn some skills and be able to do them herself. She did her round-off-back-handspring all by herself during her floor routine. It was awesome!
BFF's! He stayed with Levi for pretty much the whole show. It was great!

After the show, Esther and I went to "Charming Charlie" for a little shopping before I had to head out to Stake Conference. We were so happy to have built in babysitters and had a great time with the family!
This fun picture is a girl who doesn't want to be left out of a picture. I love the things Jada says. The other day we were getting in the car after church and she was mad about something, and she says something like, "Elle look at my face! It is a mad face!" It was so funny to hear her express herself that way!
Some ribbons we've been collecting to show how all the hard work is paying off!

Jada finished up her last playgroup last week. I made some play-doh and the kids played with it for so long! I have a love-hate relationship with the stuff, but don't mind the homemade variety as much. Don't love the mess, but do love how great it entertains!

I also got some swim suits for the summer. Good thing because a week from now we will be in Florida! Can't wait!
I've taken on a new roll in our home as "Campaign Manager" for Elle. I am so proud of her! She had qualified to run for Coyote Council at school and wanted to go for it. Last week she had to give a speech in front of her class. A handful of other classmates also wanted to run and gave speeches. They picked one representative from their class after the speeches and they picked Elle! Tuesday is the speeches in front of all of first grade where they will pick two students to be on Coyote Council next year. She knew she could speak in front of everyone because she's had practice while baring her testimony. What a cute girl! Wish her luck!

And now for a pic of Jada and her future husband, Lincoln. Lincoln's mom had asked him if he asked Jada to marry him. He said yes. She asked if he knew what "marry" means. He said, "Mary had a little lamb." Good to know he'll take the commitment seriously!
Teacher gift for this week! They have this fun little boutique stand at the home swim meets (seems really out of place to me but whatever!) and we got our gift taken care of. A pen and a free pair of earrings- not bad!
My gramps had his 88th b-day recently. Glad they didn't make him blow out that many candles. Can't wait to see them soon at my brother's wedding! I'm so lucky to have such awesome grandparents!
Recently got to spend time at the Dermatologist for Mya and had a pleasant hour-plus long wait in the waiting room. Good times with three kids. The cell phone came in handy!
And a parting shot of my new shirt, purchased by my friend Ashley for $1 at Wal-Mart. Gotta love Wal-Mart!
