False Advertising???

This is one of my new favorite t-shirts. It ranks right up there with my "Eating for Two" maternity shirt. While some may question the truthfulness of this statement (and I do accept my tendencies towards ditzy-ness at times), I wear it with pride.

Soccer Stars

I guess I owe it to Kristin to get her picture off the top of my blog! We've had 2 soccer games which have been so hot. I probably sweat more than the kids as I am out on the field trying to get them to play and be in the right places and at least grasp some small concept of what is going on. My efforts are probably in vain as I'm sure most would rather be eating snacks, sitting in the shade, and playing with the grass. I know at times I would! So here are my little future soccer stars. May they one day learn how to really play and get uniforms that actually fit!

A Shout Out To The Little Ol' Pregnant Lady

Sorry about stealing the picture...It was just too good to not use again! This is a special post to wish my very first real friend that I ever made after moving to Texas a happy 25th! (That bordered on run-on sentence material.) Thanks for your friendship and for all of your help. I still owe you a million favors as you have saved my life so many times. Hopefully this next year is filled with a smaller belly, not too many sleepless nights, and lots and lots of dirty diapers (sorry- there really is no way around that last one!) Happy Birthday Prego Mama!

Important Life Lessons, Taught By Yours Truly!

As the nursery teacher to small children in my ward, I find myself in a position to teach valuable life lessons on an almost weekly basis. Oh sure, we talk about gospel subjects and what not, but the important life lessons I am talking about are a little different than that. Example number one: The way to tell it is the girl's bathroom is if the little person on the picture is wearing a dress. No dress- no go. Dress- you're home free. Another lesson taught today: It is probably a good idea to wear shoes into a public bathroom. Lesson #3: Make sure to hold up your dress or skirt while using the potty in order to avoid, um, you know. Lesson #4: Make sure your skirt or dress is all back in the right place after using the potty. Dresses or skirts tucked into panties, well, not the newest, coolest trend. And after all of these important life lessons, we try to walk reverently back to our room. (I'm lucky if I get one or two to actually fold their arms and walk!) It may seem like minor stuff to all of us more mature gals, but if I don't teach these girls these crucial lessons, who will??? We don't want them to be the laughing stock of primary next year, right?!

Sick, Sick, Sick (And I'm not talking about Mya's flu!)

Just be glad we didn't invite you over for dinner tonight! Let me start from the beginning...Tuna noodle casserole was a favorite dish of mine when I was growing up (some of you may be dry heaving at this very moment just at the thought of such a dish!) Anyways, I've made it like once since Jake and I got married because he does not feel the same way that I do towards the above mentioned casserole. Well, I found a recipe for it the other day in a magazine and decided to give it a try. While I didn't follow the directions exactly perfectly, I did get the main ingredients in and away we went. So come dinnertime- tuna noodle casserole and rolls (and thank goodness there were rolls or we all would have starved!) The very smell alone of the casserole would be enough to send you packing, or someone with a weak stomach to the nearest toilet. Without going on and on about how disgusting this casserole turned out to be, I'll just say that most of it got put down the garbage disposal. I would probably normally feel bad about throwing that much food away, but not tonight. We needed a llama like Tina on "Napoleon Dynamite" to feed this to because it looked like something that would be right up her alley. All that was missing were flies circling the dish. But they were probably scared off, too, and I can't say I blame them!

Just Look At Those Weeds!

I don't want to brag or anything, but I have the best weeds on the block. After pulling out what I thought were weeds in my flower beds, I came to discover that they were really some kind of pretty flower. Don't ask me where they came from- I really couldn't tell you. They are just popping up everywhere! I don't even know what type of flower it is. It must be my awesome green thumb that brought these on (okay, that was a joke). But I am enjoying my free beautiful weeds and am happy to say that they really don't require too much care- which for me is a good thing.

So, It's Been Awhile...

And nothing too creative or exciting to post. We visited good old Louisiana this Labor Day weekend and had a lot of fun. We went to the aquarium, shopped, ate, played games, hung out, and had fun with the family! Had the first soccer practice last night. It went okay, but I think I need to figure out a way to make it better. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. Sorry for the boringness- but pictures make up for the lame post on my part!
